It has already been officially announced by EA themselves that the trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II is set to drop this Saturday, April 15th at “The Galaxywide Premiere of the of Star Wars Battlefront II” panel. While this trailer will definitely bring the hype, it would be exponentially better if a version of this game is available for Celebration guests to try out. Unfortunately, I don’t think a playable version will happen at Star Wars Celebration. EA is most likely saving the playable version for the EA Play event during E3 this year. There is still much that needs to be said about this game by EA in order for me to be really excited about the game. Here’s 4 things EA needs to tell fans this weekend.

The 2015 Star Wars Battlefront game covered the original trilogy which includes Episodes IV, V, and VI. I believe that was a great place to start with iconic characters, vehicles, and planets that made for fun and nostalgic game play. With this new game, I believe a change to a new era would be beneficial to keep the game fresh. There are what seems to be just two choices here, either go with the Prequel trilogy, Episdoes I, II, III, or go with the current trilogy, Episodes VII and VIII (they won’t show anything from IX till we get closer to that release date). I believe that the Prequel trilogy would make for a better game at this point and would bring back nostalgia to the original Battlefront games.
One of the biggest criticism’s of the 2015 Star Wars Battlefront was the lack of a single-player campaign. Many players felt that the game overall had a lack of content in the way of game modes as well. EA needs to show the fans that this game will come packed with a variety of game modes and a single-player campaign. Even John Boyega asked EA if this would happen.
Gameplay was definitely a strength for the first Battlefront game made by EA. One thing that excites me are what changes EA will make to the game in the way of new weapons, specials, maps, and game modes. If the game changes to a new era, I believe we will see a variety of new weapons and vehicles to that time period. What will be interesting is to see what playable characters will come with this new game. Perhaps Jar Jar Binks will be a playable character?
With the game coming out this year, its about time for EA to just tell us when we can expect to get this game. I’m thinking it will come out a few weeks before Star Wars: The Last Jedi just like the last game came about before The Force Awakens.
