Star Wars Celebration 2017 is happening THIS THURSDAY! Cinemashelf is sending a team of podcasters and writers down to Orlando, FL for the entire week to cover every big moment! You can follow all of our updates on our official Twitter and Instagram.
This year, we expect to see a TON of announcements. A few relating to some of the newer movies, and few surprises that will excite those waiting on new releases of the original trilogy. Next week is going to be amazing for a few reasons. First, it’s the last celebration until 2019. Yes, we know. It’s terrible that we have to wait until 2019 for another event like this. But second, we are expecting Lucasfilm to drop a few MAJOR announcements in some of their panels. Here’s the top 3 things we’re expecting next week, in no particular order:
Yes, we’re expecting a major announcement on Thursday that deals with the 40th anniversary of the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope. This is mainly because of the fanfare around this panel. Not only are they bringing back a few of the most recognizable names in Star Wars history, but they have made it clear that this is going to be a panel that is “long remembered”, if you will. It appears that this is going to be one of the major panels of the convention. Other major convention panels include The Last Jedi panel and the Star Wars Rebels panels.

Not only are we expecting the entire cast from the next installment of the “episodes”, but we’re expecting to get our first look at this film. We do expect more than a behind the scenes look or something related to that. We’re expecting to see a teaser, but with a feel of a more complete trailer. I think it’ll be more substantial of a first look than Lucasfilm is letting onto. We’re super excited to get a look at the next Star Wars movie.
Star Wars Rebeles season 3 ended with a few major moments, but we’re expecting a massive season 4. I don’t expect this show to last past a 5th season, although I do expect some of the characters to. I believe 5 seasons is enough for this, and Lucasfilm has the creative talent to produce another great animated show. I believe in what Lucasfilm is doing for this show right now, and I expect a few more great moments from the next few seasons. I say a few great moments because the show is still aimed towards children, so we shouldn’t expect every episode to have a “I am your father”-type moments.
