‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Early Reactions

From what we’ve heard about Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice so far is that Warner Bros. is either really worried abut early fan reactions, or they’re super excited about how fans are reacting.

These are the primary rumors right now. This past Saturday evening BVS held their official premiere, seeing how the movie begins early showings for the wide release this coming Thursday.

After the event, many premiere attendees took to twitter to claim that the movie was awesome, and that Ben Affleck was a great Batman. Many also citing that Gal Gadot hits a homerun with her portrayal of WonderWoman. But before all of these positive rumors began flowing in, the consensus  was that BVS was receiving mixed reactions from test audiences. How true or untrue these rumors are remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, there are commonalities between these reactions. Mainly being that fans loved Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, and none of the fans made mention of Henry Cavill’s Superman in the movie. Warner Bros. has no real reason to be worried about how this thing will fare, but instead should be worried about what happens if this movie is not very good and it receives negative reactions from the audience. This movie will make big money, at least we think so here at CinemaShelf.

With the rumors continuing to flow in, we keep hearing that there’s reason to think that Ben Affleck’s Batman is one of the best onscreen Batman’s to date. Many early reports are saying that he rivals Christian Bale’s portrayal of Batman in The Dark Knight. Although none of us here have seen the movie yet, we are very excited to say the least. Our complaints about the marketing were answered when the BVS marketing team came back strong with a couple good trailers and TV spots.

Let’s just hope the truth is with the people from this past weekend saying the movie is solid, and that Affleck and Gadot rock as Batman and WonderWoman!

We’ll be there this coming Thursday as the first wide-release showings begin! Let us know what you think when you see it by tweeting at us @CinemaShelf

EDIT (3/2216: 7pm)

Okay, guys. I may have misspoke. The embargo on the film was just lifted and the reviews are not great to say the least. From what people are saying, this movie is not good, but there are shining parts. From what I discussed above, the movie does hit some high notes with Batman and WonderWoman. But from what others are saying on Twitter/Rotten Tomatoes, this movie is really long and boring. I am hoping that this does not be the case, but when the movie is being called Spiderman 3 meets Star Wars Episode 1, my hopes go down a bit. I am still very excited to see this movie, and honestly, you should be too. It’s the few minutes after the movie where reality sets in and you know if you liked it or not.

Good luck on Thursday, readers.
