‘Krypton’ TV Show in Development for Syfy

It has been recently reported on Collider that a Superman prequel tv series titled Krypton is being developed for the Syfy channel. David S. Goyer, known for being a writer of the Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, confirmed that the show is still in development and that an update should come soon. Goyer goes on to talk about his involvement in the opening 20 minutes of Man of Steel and how the production value of the show will have some big moments but not be “wall to wall visual effects” like the Krypton scenes in Man of Steel were. We do know however, that the show will take place 200 years before the Superman is alive.

How do you feel about this show? There are a good handful of DC superhero tv shows including Gotham, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. You could even lump shows like Smallville and Constantine in as well. It seems like the superhero genre is becoming saturated with both DC and Marvel with huge TV and movie plans. Will the industry be too saturated by the time Krypton premieres?
