Mighty No. 9, the upcoming action-platformer set to serve as a spiritual successor to the classic Mega Man series, will roll out in North America on June 21 and worldwide on June 24, according to a message from Comcept studio founder and former Mega Man illustrator Keiji Inafune.
In a blog post on the title’s official site, Inafune said that the game was in its “final stages” and that the dates announced are “set in stone.”
The game was first announced in 2013, with a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project having launched on August 31 of that same year. Since then, the Mega Man-inspired game has seen multiple delays, angering gamers eagerly anticipating the new IP.
Mighty No. 9 will launch initially on Windows, OS X, Linux, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U, with subsequent releases on Playstation Vita and 3DS set to arrive “at a later point.”
