Naruto Live-Action Movie Coming?

news_header_DSC_3373

Lionsgate has apparently signed Michael Gracey to direct a live-action adaptation of the extremely popular Japanese manga Naruto. Lionsgate is currently in negotiations over the film rights to Naruto. Avi Arad, who is a reportedly a fan of the series is set to produce this fil though his Arad Productions. Arad has produced a plethora of comic book movies from the Spider-Man trilogy with Toby McGuire to the new Fantastic Four coming out next Friday.

Is this a good idea?

I would love to see a live-action Naruto if it can be done well without looking cheesy. This story reminds me of Dragonball Evolution and The Last Airbender because they are both live-action adaptations of popular animated series’. Those movie both BOMBED. Even this month in Japan Attack on Titan was released and got a review so bad it was titled “I wished the titans would eat the kids so it would end.” Despite all these failures, I would still love to see a live-action just because I love Naruto so much. My mind says this shouldn’t be made but my heart wants this so much!

For those of you who haven’t watched Naruto

Naruto is an amazing series. If you haven’t watched it, stop reading this and go watch it! It is really long, but the story is definitely worth it. The story started in 1999 and just ended last November with it all being written by Masashi Kishimoto. The action is great, story is brilliant, and Naruto is such a lovable character. I would highly recommend this series to anyone. If you want to watch just the main story, I recommend using “No Filler Naruto” as a guide so you can skip all the fillers.

Here’s a fan parody of Naruto. Enjoy!
