Nintendo just announced through their Twitter page that tomorrow, Thursday October 20th, would be the day that we would get some details about the mysterious Nintendo NX via a preview trailer. The internet has been going crazy, waiting for any information about this console and that day has finally come. That being said, Nintendo needs a SLAM DUNK of an announcement trailer tomorrow in order to restore faith in their company after a pretty quiet and disappointing 2016. Here are 5 things that Nintendo needs to do to be successful tomorrow:
5. Tell us when more information is coming
Tomorrow’s announcement will probably be brief and give us only a tease of what the Nintendo NX is. If Nintendo won’t give us all the information we need to know about this console, they better give us a date of some sort when we can expect to get more information.
4. Give us a price
We need to know what this thing will cost us. This price needs to be good too. If the Nintendo NX wants to sell it needs to be at most $349. $299 would be the sweet spot for this console. Although, I wouldn’t complain with a price under $299 as well.
3. Show us at least 1 game for this console
Nintendo President Kimishima has previously stated in an interview that the Nintendo NX was not released during the 2015 holiday season to ensure that the NX’s software lineup was in a good place. That being said, show us the Mario game coming to NX or show us a new IP that your team has been working on. Showing us just a quick teaser of a game would bring a good amount of hype to this new console.
2. Show us what this thing is!
Nintendo needs to finally end the rumors! No more speculation and no more taking things with a grain of salt. Show us exactly what the Nintendo NX is and tell us what the new name is (if there is one). Fans of Nintendo will be very disappointed if this preview trailer is simply a teaser of what it can do and not what it actually is.
1. Keep up the hype!
These next 5 months up until the release of the Nintendo NX in March 2017 is all about hype. Hype sells systems. This trailer needs to be exactly what the Sony press conference that unveiled the PS4 Pro WASN’T. The announcements from this trailer needs to be everything that everyone is talking about for the next week. These announcements tomorrow are essentially the start of the marketing process for this new console and Nintendo really needs to get everyone excited about it. If these announcements don’t bring the hype, it could be the very beginning of a very rough 2017 for the company.
