The Iceman Cometh: Top Gun 2

In the past few months more and more rumors have began circulating about the possible sequel to the 1986 classic Top Gun. From Tom Cruise basically outright saying a sequel is coming, to rumors of scripts being rewritten and pre-production looming, today seems to be the biggest confirmation that this dream is a reality!

The Iceman himself, Val Kilmer, posted on social media that he has signed on to rejoin his fellow dogfighting fighter pilots in Top Gun 2.

With Kilmer on board, it seems that this movie is moving right along to a release date that has yet to be announced. But with the recent developments, I would not be surprised if we got a more solid date before the year is out.

Many people might not want to see something like this happen, mainly because it’s nice to leave legends as just that, legends. Whether you like Tom Cruise or not, you cannot deny his ability to make a movie that is wildly fun and entertaining. Somehow the 53 year old actor looks to be in the best shape of his life, and keeps pumping out movies that don’t disappoint.

Top Gun 2 does not have a synopsis, nor does it seem to have anything else confirmed except that Tom Cruise wants to use real fighter jets for the movie, just like they did for the first one.
