‘Thor: Ragnarok’ adds Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, Cate Blanchett & Mark Ruffalo

Thor: Ragnarok may ONE of the craziest casts for a solo film (other that Captain America: Civil War) that Marvel Studios has produced. With Captain America: Civil War still dominating the box office, Marvel decided to officially announce some additions to the Thor cast.

The news of Mark Ruffalo joining the cast is no real surprise considering we’ve been hearing that The Incredible Hulk will be a major player in this film. But the confirmation is great to see, nonetheless, and we could not be more excited to see Ruffalo return as the big green guy. The real thriller here is Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum and Karl Urban. Blanchett is said to be playing a new villain named Hela that we know very little about at this moment. Goldblum will be playing a mathematician who is coming to help as a sort of insurance consultant for a tycoon that is attempting to open a park full of…wait, no, sorry, here’s the right description – Goldblum will be playing an eccentric Grandmaster, which sounds right up his alley. Urban will be playing the character of Skurge who was usually an axe wielding villain in the comics, but whether that is the character that Skurge will end up being is unconfirmed.

Although we’re not completely sure what the story will be in Thor: Ragnarok, we’re sure it will be a story of destruction and (hopefully) high-risk situations that involve 2 Avengers we did not get to see in the latest team up Marvel movie – Captain America: Civil War. Thor and Hulk were both noticeably missing from the film, but that just makes this next Thor film even more exciting. With a few people exiting the Thor series, like Natalie Portman, it is no mystery why Marvel has gathered an all-star cast for the film. It’s great to see more and more award-winning actors and actresses join the MCU, let’s just hope this movie can be all that it can be. And judging from the results we got from Captain America: Civil WarThor: Ragnarok will be a solid addition to the MCU.

Thor: Ragnarok is due out November 3, 2017 and will be directed by Taika Waititi
