What I hope to see in the Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct

We’ve hit the point of no return. Tomorrow is the final presentation dedicated to Super Smash Bros for Wii U. So far, Nintendo has done a TREMENDOUS job of acquiring the licenses for some of the most iconic video game characters, making this lineup unlike any game we’ve ever seen. The fact that we see Mario, Megaman, Pac-Man, Ryu, and Cloud in the same game is mind boggling! Either way, I think we will be happy with what we get from the Nintendo Direct tomorrow. Here’s what I would like to see:

More Characters

It has already been confirmed that we’ll get more information on Cloud. We got the reveal trailer for Cloud at the November Nintendo Direct presentation. I hope that since this is the last presentation for Smash that we will see at least 2 or 3 more characters revealed in addition to Cloud. Even if the characters are in very early development, I’d like them to just announce the characters. I can’t complain with the current roster though because it is amazing. One thing I also hope for are some American video game characters as most of the characters we’ve gotten so far have been Japanese.

More Game Modes

They NEED to add a local tournament mode that will let you customize your options. That’s one of the biggest things missing from the game currently. I would also like them to bring back the Boss Battle game mode that they had in Brawl. But most of all, bring back a story mode! Subspace Emissary was so much fun in Brawl! A story mode would be so much fun if they could find some way to incorporate all the characters currently in the game with new parts as DLC when the new characters come out. Also, the classic mode from Melee would be great too, just saying.

Ballot Results

I am so curious as to how the Smash Bros. Ballot went. Even if we don’t see the characters voted for in the game, I’d just like to see what the results were.
