In case you didn’t already know, last week was the mid-season finale of Pretty Little Liars. You can read my recap here. Now I am stuck waiting until January to see what happens next.
Marlene King left us on a cliffhanger that totally changes the rest of this season. She jumps ahead five years in time. Apparently this is just bringing the Liars back into the present because time has stood still in Rosewood and they’ve been stuck in 2010.
The girls are older and hopefully wiser in the second half of this season. And just like always, someone is after them again.
Also, rumor has it that next season, season 7, will be the final season for this show. Lucy Hale, who plays Aria on the show, has said that she will be done playing her character by next October. I don’t think the show can go on without Aria.
I think making next season the finale season of the show is a good plan. After the big reveal last week, there are still several questions that have been left unanswered. Hopefully, I. Marlene King will clear up these questions for her fans and tie the show up in a nice little bow.
One thing is for sure, the rest of season 6 (and however many seasons are left of the show) will be sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats. While the show can get pretty cheesy at times, the writers have always done a good job keeping the viewers guessing and I don’t see why they would fail us now.
It’s now time to start my countdown until the mid-season premiere where we will get to meet the older, present day Liars and find out just what kind of trouble they have gotten themselves into this time.
